Pallet Coffee Table

Sorry it has been a minute since I put up a post. I have been working like crazy to get the studio ready for Dandy Boutique’s first open house, so, so excited! This past week my boyfriend and I were able to get this beauty finished! We made a pallet coffee table from two old pallets, castor wheels, and a 4 x 4 post. The project itself was not too hard at all, but getting it painted was another story all together. We painted it a flat white, and it turned out great. It is a little big for our small living room, but it is nice to have all the table space. Our last coffee table was quite minuscule in comparison! Let me know what you think and hopefully next week I will be getting the tutorial up for this project!

Wedding Trends:Vintage Glam Meets Secret Garden

With just getting back from a from a beautiful wedding and seeing all of the retro Gatsby inspired fashion out there; I must admit that weddings are on the brain a bit. I have always loved planning parties, but when the day comes, when I get to plan my own wedding, I will be one happy girl. To be completely honest, the planning may have already started (when I was about 15) , with so many beautiful trends and fashions out there its hard not to start picking and choosing what would look best on your special day! Its given me time to hone in on what I like best, if I had to put it into a short sentence, it would be vintage glam meets secret garden. Take a look at some of my favorite wedding trends of the season and tell me what you think?!

I found this engagement ring so long ago on Pinterest, but can’t seem to find where it came from. I love unique rings with a vintage touch!

This beautiful art deco 20′s inspired gown by Jenny Packham  is one of my favorites, by far. I love all of the beaded detail, stunning! Great Gatsby, anyone?

Any type of intricate lace detail and I am in love! The dress to the right is so beautiful with its lace and beaded detail. Picture via Belle Magazine.

This would be the perfect setup for me. An old worn trunk with a beautiful delicate settee and mercury glass vases, bellissimo!   Adding delicate with worn creates such a beautiful contrast. Picture via Sweet & Saucy.

Beautiful rustic bouquet with burlap table numbers and a burlap runner. Again, such an elegant contrast. Picture via Wedding Chicks.

Love the vintage vibe here with the old suit cases vintage meets shabby chic. Picture via With Love From Kat.

One of my favorite trends is the Smore Station, after discovering this on Pinterest there is no way I am not having one of these at my wedding, even if it’s not Summer yet! Picture via The Sweetest Occasion.

Magical, whimsical, beautiful, combining lanterns, lights, and twigs feels like you were transported down the rabbit hole. Picture via Style Me Pretty.

Lastly, to round off all of my favorites: a beautiful garden, a vine laced arch, and glamorous chandelier, tops off every secret garden wedding fantasy I have ever had. So many ideas its easy to get carried away! Picture via Bridal Snob.

Southern Summer Wedding

This weekend me and beau spent some time in his home town for his cousin’s wedding. He is from a small little town, right outside of Little Rock, AR, called Keo. It is a quaint little town known for great antiques and awesome pies! Seeing as I love everything vintage, I love visiting. Everything from main street to the fire truck have a vintage flair! The wedding  was (more…)

Crate + Succulents =

Crates + Succulents = a cute little front porch garden! If I had my way and unlimited funds, I would have a vegetable garden, raised gardens, and tons of flowers everywhere, but I have to work with what I’ve got.  In my opinion, flowers can make even the most boring looking bungalow look amazing. Good thing my boyfriend’s mother has gifted me with so many amazing vintage crates and tins, that have an unlimited amount of uses.

One of my favorite things to do on a sunny day off with my man, (besides go to the beach)  is work on our little yard. It is slowly getting better with each little touch we add to it.  So this past weekend, I used one of those awesome crates to create a little succulent garden for the front porch. I just lined the crate with trash bags, filled it with potting soil and planted two succulents per section. Now for a newbie gardener, such as myself,  succulents happen to be the perfect plant to make me look like I know what I am doing. Mainly, because if someone forgets to water them occasionally, they won’t wither and die!  Here’s to the underachiever of the plant world, my new best friend!

Mother’s Day Wish List

I thought I would throw up a little wish list for Mother’s Day, which is just around the corner for all you procrastinators! I talk to my mama about three times a day and couldn’t ask for a better friend and therapist. She is one of the most positive people I know and she always tries to see the good in everyone and every situation. If I could I would get my mother everything she has ever wanted, but alas, I’m not made of money (not even close). So, I put together some items I think she would really like. I don’t live in the same state as her, so hopefully, sending her a fun little package in the mail will be a close second to seeing her on Mother’s Day!

Most of these fun items I found on Etsy! Fun burlap pillows and wine scented candles. Everyone should have at least one wine scented candle as far as I am concerned. I also found some great Mother’s Day cards and some fun IPhone cases! Hope everyone has a wonderful Mother’s Day with your mama, grandmother, friend, or whoever you happen to be celebrating it with!

Pretty as a Picture Packaging

Owing my own business, I am constantly trying to come up with cute and creative ways to package my merchandise. I have always been a fan of cute paper products and believe that how you package your items is just as important as the items themselves. I have to say that colorful twine and craft paper are my go to products for packaging, (see my gift wrapping here) , but that doesn’t mean that I am not open to new ideas! So, I was trolling Pinterest the other day and found some great ideas that I will definitively be trying, in the not so distance future. Nothing beats getting a fun little package in the mail, especially if they look like some of the packages below, can’t wait to try them out!
